North Hero Birding - Pelot's Point and Butternut Hill Natural Areas

Join the Green Mountain Audubon Society in exploring two special preserves on North Hero. Pelot’s Point, bordering Lake Champlain, offers a variety of habitats including fields, deciduous forest, cedar stands, and marsh areas. Butternut Hill includes two wetlands with a floodplain forest, a mature beech forest, and a small patch of red cedar woodland along the rocky bluff at the lake shore. Within each of these locales can be found a variety of avian species. This outing will cover approximately 2-3 miles over some uneven terrain with a few hills. There are no restroom facilities on site. To ensure an enjoyable birding experience, this trip is limited to 20 participants. Registration for this outing will open on May 6.
